Members of Preferred Mutual Insurance Company came together to volunteer for charitable organizations and support people in need as part of the GivingTuesday movement. GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that has become one of the biggest fundraising days of the year for nonprofits. This holiday season, 95 Preferred Mutual employees dedicated 193.75 hours to volunteer activities, supporting 14 organizations across 11 counties in New York, as well as in Massachusetts, Maryland, and Georgia.

Organizations that benefited from these efforts include the Unadilla Valley Food Pantry, United Way of Mid Rural NY, Friends of Rogers, the Chenango County SPCA, Clear Path for Veterans, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Blue Star Mothers of America, Salvation Army, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the Warming Station in Oneonta, Feeding America, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the American Red Cross, and the Thanksgiving Basket Drive in Shrewsbury, MA.

“At Preferred, our mission is to enable our customers, colleagues, and communities to confidently achieve their dreams,” said Benedikt Sander, President and CEO of Preferred Mutual Insurance Company. “On GivingTuesday, and every day, we are proud of our employees and the compassion and collaboration they demonstrate as they support the organizations and initiatives that make our communities home.”
